‘Making the church part of the community and the community part of the church.’
Who we are
We try to live our Christian faith in ways that make a difference to people’s everyday lives
– sharing what we have
– sharing our questions, our joys and our griefs
– sharing our different skills and gifts
Over the years, people have said that Richmond is a a place where people are made to feel very welcome. We are pleased about that because it’s important to us.
What to Expect
Sunday Service: 11.00am
Our Sunday morning worship has a relaxed feel – and at different times, may be joyful, reflective, and funny! – but we are serious about our Christian faith.
Occasionally we try a different format – for example, during Lent we worship in a circle.
Our music is led by Graeme MacDonald, an excellent musician who plays the guitar and other instruments.
Children are made welcome, and take part in the first part of the service, then continue with their own activities in Sunday Club.
This includes arts and crafts, tying in with our worship theme that morning.
Babies and those who look after them are welcome to remain in church or to join with the Sunday Club if they wish, where games or activities are available for them.
Our Staff
Jennifer Stark is our Church and Community worker. She has previously worked in adult education overseas and in Britain. Since 2010, she has worked for the Church of Scotland, first in an ecumenical project in Leith, and then with churches in Glenrothes and Morningside.
Liz is our Church
Isabell Curran is our session clerk.
Margaret Cumming is our treasurer.
The Memorial Tree
Our Memorial Tree, made of copper branches and leaves, is situated within the church. People from the community, Richmond’s Hope and the church can all put leaves on the tree in memory of someone they have loved.
We have a memorial service, open to everyone, once a year.
